Monopropylene glycol (C₃H₈O₂), also known as propylene glycol, is a clear, colorless, and odorless liquid with a slightly sweet taste. It is widely used as a solvent for flavors, colorants, antioxidants, enzymes, and vitamins.
As a humectant, it maintains texture and softness in bakery products, confectionery, and animal feed. Its excellent miscibility with water and alcohol makes it a key component in modern food formulations.
Chimtec MPG complies with USP, FCC, and E1520 standards and is available in halal and kosher grades. It is non-toxic, biodegradable, and thermally stable up to 180 °C.
