Citric Acid – E330

The Universal Food Industry Acidulant

Citric acid (C₆H₈O₇·H₂O) is one of the most widely used food additives, regulating pH, stabilizing flavors, and preventing browning. It also acts as a chelating agent for heavy metals.

Produced via glucose fermentation, it has a minimum purity of 99.5%, high solubility (148 g/100 mL at 25 °C), and a pH of 2.2 in a 5% solution. Supplied as white crystals or powder.

Compliant with FCC, USP, and Codex GSFA standards, it is biodegradable, safe, and authorized for quantum satis use. It is a cost-effective alternative to phosphoric acid and compatible with halal and kosher processes.
